The Friday excitement continues.

I nearly forgot about the most exciting news ever. There is a Goodwill opening down the road from where I work and today is the Grand Opening!! Of course we will be making a visit. My supervisor decorates the work space with items purchased at this wonderful store. Our hope is to find some more today.I have never been able to find anything I would like there, but today the bossman is going to show me the skill one needs to be victorious. If we're lucky we'll be the first in line, ready to rush the doors. Ooh, maybe there will be free donuts. I can hardly contain myself.

The jackpot will be mine!

Guess what time it is...

BINGO TIME! Friday @ 6:30. Feel free to meet me there. I need a new good luck charm. Whatever I took last time sure didn't work.

On a similar note, Wheel of Fortune auditions will be this month. We have some contenders at work and I'm hoping to see them on television in the near future. Oh, so exciting.

I've recovered.

The shock of not graduating has passed. This is probably a good thing, because this means I won't be nearly as busy with these fluffy classes I'll be taking as opposed to real ones in grad school. Luckily I can take the Beatles class and force the lil' miss at work to assist me! She claims to be an expert. We'll be putting her to the test this summer. This will also give me more time to prepare for grad school. blech.

Onto brainstorming which easy upper division classes to enroll for...

Beatles. Check.
Bob Marley?
Elvis?
Sex and the City?

Ridiculous that these are the classes holding me back from graduating Spring 09.

No Obama for me!

There is a lot of potty mouthin' going on today. I think I'm going to have to take 15 more credits to graduate, meaning a whole semester! I have a new advisor and she is not as cooperative/trickster as my original. rrrgh. I had a feeling about this and I probably should have emailed that dang advisor last week, before paying the fee for graduation. rrrgh. Oh well. I'm off to think positive thoughts for the remainder of the day.

;)

A full week?

I'm at work on a Monday! Yuck. I've become accustomed to having three day weekends. I feel like I'm a grown up or something, working 40 hours. Wah!!! I'll admit, this is gonna be tough. On the bright side, I might have time to find some useless information to post. hmmm.

Putting it on the Wish List

I think everyone should have one of these in their house. Right next to the bowling lane and air hockey table.

I'm pretty much a genius

I found out that my math skills are a little bit better than verbal. At least on the GRE. I guess the verbal provides too many options for thinking, hmm... well... if it's said this way.... Bah. Done.

The youngest twin learned something new the other night. He can now pull out the dresser drawers in order to climb to the top and tug the cord that turns on the bedroom light. Of course the dresser fell on top of him and he nearly snapped his neck on the nearby piece of furniture as he fell. There better not be any emergency room visits on my babysitting nights. That's a warning, to anyone. It'll have to be anyone out there, because I know their mom doesn't read this. Oh well, another empty threat. :)

I'm trying to think of anything else that has happened in the past month since I posted last... hmmm. well... nada!

Oh wait! We had Cake Day at work yesterday. Costco cake. mmmmmm. gooooooood. We were trying to come up with a reason to celebrate, but really we just wanted cake. Costco cake. With buttercream frosting and cream cheese filling. It was a successful day for us in the world of old, boring and cold books. We are going to have a Salad Party next, we have to balance out all these ridiculous calories we've been consuming.

(Don't worry... I saved all the leftover cake to give to the 'roommate' as an early birthday present. I know, pretty thoughtful of me!)

Now I need suggestions.

What should I create for the winner?

I got suckered in by the free stuff!

Some 'lovely' ladies I know have posted this on their blog and I wanted to get in on the free gifts.
(Here's the original version of this nasty chain thingamajig)

Lucky you! The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For You. Could be really bizarre, and it could be fun..you never know! This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!

2. What I create will be just for you.

3. It'll be done this year. {might be a little while}

4. You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry (hmmm) or maybe even some creation I haven't even invented yet. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did, win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!

* * *Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

The catch is that you to do the same for others. I will not be forced into this box, so I'm compromising. There will only be 1 winner in my version. The winner will have created the 'perfect life plan' for me and post it in the comments. This could include travel, employment, children, income, how fabulous I am... etc. Get creative, because if you don't... I will not award a prize to anyone. Do not disappoint me. You hold my future in your hands!!

Something to look forward to...

Who knew you could buy pancake batter in a can? Not me. I didn't think it was possible to outdo Cereal Day, but this one might. Waffle Day has to be a success, especially after what we went through to purchase this gem. This can must be made of gold, I paid $5.50 for the stinkin' thing. We left for lunch with a plan, having already figured out what stores carried this product. Albertson's was first on the list, $4.99. I couldn't do it. We decided to hit up Costco. They normally sell a 3 pack for $6-7, sold out. (It must be good) We stopped by one more store on the way back to work and that's where I ended up paying $5.50. By that point I was returning with this can at all costs.

Now all that is left is to fire up the waffle iron at work in the morning. Party time!!

P.S. It's organic. I know, it just keeps getting better.

Cereal Day!

That's right, we're creating holidays at our version of a library. Everyone brought their favorite cereal and we ended up with a honey flavored theme. Somehow we all forgot the Lucky Charms!! Next time, there will be more planning involved. Overall, it was pretty successful. All day, non stop cereal consumption was going on down here. Throw in some 80 degree weather and a good time was had by all.

The one downfall... remember the Milli Vanilli incident? Today it was all about Juice Newton and "angel of the morning" ON REPEAT! I am continuing to learn patience. You try and finish that entire music video I linked to. Do it. Bet ya can't.

Furlough???

What kind of crazy word is that? All I know is that I have been 'given' 10 days off.. UNPAID! Wahoo. At least I still have my job, this month. :) On the upside, this will provide some extra study time.

Something to think about....

Here's hoping

Procrastination free semester. That's the goal. We'll see how long it lasts. I think that blogging was my way of purposely procrastinating last semester. It worked pretty well. Those last few weeks were a whirlwind. This time around is going well so far, considering it's the first week of my LAST semester! I have motivation though... (I found this while blogstalking and can't remember who provided it. Bad form for a future librarian)

1. The amount of dread you feel is directly proportional to the feeling of relief you'll feel once you simply complete the dreaded task. (For me, that's usually discussion boards for online class.)

2. The longer you put something off, the more perplexed you'll be that you just didn't do the thing you were dreading sooner. (Duh! I always think that after the fact. ugh.)

Back to work I go, or maybe studying for that stupid GRE test. I don't even have time to blow it off. I guess it's better that way.

I can't imagine where he learns this stuff.

The youngest nephew(18mos) is getting too big for his britches. While I was cooking dinner last night, he was making his way through the kitchen with some toys. His mom caught him halfway and told him to put them back in his room. He thought for a minute, then turned to me and said "I don't want them." He stood there waiting for me to take the toys. Of course I did, I'm a pushover. As soon as they were in my hands, he pointed to his room and told me to go put them away. He wanted to go watch Diego. It was hard work resisting the impulse to throw the toys at his head.
