Must be time to upgrade.

The lil'niece is quite the manipulative devil. She knows how to play people. Yesterday The Hare was her target. After teasing him for a bit, she decided that she didn't want him around anymore and we could just get a new one. She pointed to my knitting needles, informed me that I could just make a new one. (I think she meant Harry Potter style, not out of yarn) As an extra bonus, she said, "This one isn't going to snore like he does, so you'll like him more!" Luckily for me, she's only 4, so we have plenty of time to make a new Hare, just in case.

At least he didn't comment on the algae forest we're growing.

The fire inspector guy did not like our fish tank. I had to rearrange wires and separate all the power strips from each other. It was a hard days work.

Luckily he didn't notice the Halloween decorations we stuffed in the rafters. That wouldn't spark a fire... right?

I thought I was in the home stretch!

GUSSETS! HOW DID I FORGET THE GUSSET? Here I was, merrily knitting my way to a stocking when I was faced with utter confusion. How did I end up with ten too many stitches on my super pretty knitting needles? I was at toe shaping, the last and final step before completion.

Don't worry five inches ago, I should have knitted a gusset. FIVE INCHES! GUSSETS! AAAGH!!

I guess I should be grateful. I did manage to undo all the necessary stitches and add in the gusset without dropping a single stitch. That's a first.

Inappropriate Behavior.

When a 3 year old replies to everything I say with, "YES SIR!!"

My toes are cold,

and my nose, and my FINGERS! I hate having cold hands.

It's almost 'winter' time here in sunny AZ and I'm dreading it. It's already down to 50 degrees when I drive to work in the morning, still with my windows down :) Then it only reaches 79, maybe 80 during the day. I have to wear my jacket nonstop now. It's just awful.

Back to my fingers... this is always the time of the year when they start to hurt again, as soon as it gets cold outside. All those stinkin massages I used to do. Bah. I couldn't possibly blame the achiness on all the maniac knitting I've been doing the past week. (I sound like I'm like 80 years old.) Oh boy, these pretty new knitting needles have been put to good use. I guess it's just my stress relief as we wait to see who will be laid off... remember to love your library folks!

In celebration of 100 posts...

Here is the Ultimate E.W.L. item:

I have always wanted a VW Beetle Convertible. For awhile I had decided I could settle for a Mini Cooper, because it would probably require less maintenance/repair. No longer can I settle. However, I would settle for the above VW and by settling I mean the convertible soft top has been replaced with a luggage rack. This pretty automobile resides in CA and is for sale! $4500 o.b.o! I sure hope we get a bonus at my job this year. Ha ha, that's funny. They just announced their HUGE budget cuts that will start happening soon. Fingers crossed it doesn't affect those of us in the library. We are the most important, don't ya know.

E.W.L.

It is time to expand on the EverydayWishList (E.W.L. for future reference). AuntieD purchased the original pretty knitting needles for my birthday and recommended the Interchangable set to be added to the list. Of course I'll listen to an E.W.L. suggestion. But why stop there. I might as well throw in the Double Pointed set as well.

I have been using my new super pretty knitting needles, which means I didn't get to display them on the wall. If the collection continues to grow then I just might. I hope everyone is getting excited for their knitted Christmas gifts! And I mean everyone!

Lots to report on...

Halloween was a success at work. This first picture represents our office. It's pretty accurate.
These are a few lovely examples of what our student workers are capable of.

Once we got that pesky holiday out of the way, it was time to celebrate my birthday. It was pretty low key. Had dinner at a friends house on Saturday. She obviously loves me, because I was surprised with a cheesecake. She even let me take all the leftovers home! mmmm! On my actual birthday, there was a barbeque at Grandpa Hare's house for my niece. Isn't it so rude that I have to share my day. I'm totally over it. Not spiteful one bit. Can't you tell? We had lots of fun with all the kids and more cake.
I'm grateful to all the B.W.L. participants. If you didn't take the opportunity, don't worry I'm going to keep the wish list going. It was such a success that I don't dare stop now.
